Privacy policy

Kandari is a free mentorship platform run by MeetPure Bangladesh ("we"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific to what Kandari actually does.

The short version

• We collect what you give us to run mentorship: your account, your profile and your mentoring activity.
• We don't sell your data, show ads, or use tracking or analytics cookies.
• Your work email is never shown to anyone. Your private session feedback is seen only by our team.
• A resume you upload is read by Anthropic's Claude to fill in your profile, and we don't keep the file.
• You can see and change your profile at any time, and ask us to delete your account.

What we collect

Your account

Your email address, when you signed in, and for each signed-in session the IP address and browser it came from.

Sign-in with LinkedIn

If you use it, LinkedIn sends us your name, email address, profile photo and whether LinkedIn has verified your email. We don't get your connections, messages or job history from LinkedIn.

Your profile

What you choose to add: name, photo, headline, city, career level, years of experience, languages, bio, skills, the areas you mentor in or want help with, your LinkedIn URL, and your roles at organizations.

Work emails

The work address you give to verify a role. We use it only to send the verification link and record that you confirmed it.

Resumes

If you upload one, we send it to Anthropic to read it and fill in your profile. We don't store the file; only what you then save to your profile is kept.

Mentoring activity

Mentorship requests and replies, sessions and their times, the expectations you set, availability you offer, thank-you notes, and mentoring statements you request.

Private feedback

The ratings and notes you leave after a session, including anything you flag for us to follow up.

Agreements

Which version of these ground rules and this policy you agreed to, when, and from which IP address.

How we use it

• To run Kandari: show your profile, let people find mentors, send and answer requests, and schedule sessions.
• To verify where you work, so profiles can be trusted.
• To send the emails the service needs, such as sign-in links, mentorship and session updates, and feedback requests.
• To keep people safe: review flagged feedback and reports, and act on breaches of the community guidelines.
• To produce mentoring statements you ask for, and show partner organizations how their verified staff take part.

We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't use it to train AI models.

Who can see what

• Anyone, including people who aren't signed in, can see your public profile: name, photo, headline, city, bio, skills, areas, roles and which ones are verified.
• Your mentor or mentee sees your email address once a mentorship request is accepted, and the details of the sessions you share.
• A partner organization's representative, if you've verified a role there, sees that you mentor or are looking for a mentor on Kandari, totals of their staff's mentoring, and any mentoring statement you ask them to confirm. They don't see your conversations, sessions or feedback.
• Our team can see your account and activity to run and protect the service, including your private session feedback.
• Nobody else sees your work email or your private feedback.

Who processes it for us

We share data only with the services we need to run Kandari, and only for that purpose:

• Anthropic reads resumes you upload (Claude).
• Resend delivers our emails.
• Amazon Web Services stores uploaded files such as profile photos and organization logos.
• LinkedIn, only if you choose to sign in with it.
• Our hosting provider runs the servers and database.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Bangladesh. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising, tracking or third-party analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

• Your account and profile, until you delete them or ask us to.
• Accounts that never confirm their email, about a week.
• Resume files, not at all: they're read and discarded.
• Confirmed sessions and mentoring statements, as long as they're needed as a record for you and your organization. Some records, such as reports of misconduct, may be kept longer where we need them for safety or legal reasons.

Your choices

• Change or remove profile information, your photo and your roles at any time from your profile.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account, by emailing [email protected].
• Stop mentoring or being mentored at any time, from your profile.

Age

Kandari is for people aged 18 and over. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, please tell us and we'll remove it.

Security

We use encrypted connections, passwordless sign-in links that work once, and access controls on our systems. No service is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects your data, we'll tell you.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the version above and ask you to agree to it again the next time you visit.
